I love the gesture of flinging paint on fabric, watching the abstract images come to life. With the start of a gestural stroke of paint, my initial design is established. The serendipity of the paint pushes me to the next level. With the addition of circular shapes and a touch of color, the abstraction is complete. My abstraction is deliberate, hoping the viewer will find inspiration in my work.
Materials
Cotton/bamboo fabric, felt backing, paint, thread, raw edge die cut appliquéd pieces.
Techniques
Hand painted whole cloth with fused raw edge appliqué. Machine stitched and quilted.
