Line Study

Minimalism extends the abstract idea that art should have its own reality and not be an imitation of some other thing that generates emotion. Sol LeWitt was a leading minimalist artist who used line to create some of his art. Influenced by his approach, and my grandson’s primitive markings made with colored pencils on paper, I used line to create this piece. I want viewers to respond only to what is in front of them. Abstract lines and color set the reality without the expectation of complex meaning.
