Kentucky has many stone arches just like Utah except they are often hidden by trees. This piece was inspired by the brilliant colors one glorious fall week-end near Cumberland Falls. It was great to take advantage of the campground and enjoy the hiking trails.

This was my first piece using my own hand dyed fabric combined with commercial cottons. I particularly enjoyed using fractured piecing for the background. The use of piping gives the illusion of a border.
