The architecture of Cinque Terre, Italy is full of color, character and texture. The contrast of soft, hanging laundry against a colorful but deteriorating exterior wall was the inspiration for Laundry Day. My challenge was to create this image using only layers of cloth to depict rough stucco, swinging wood shutters and fluttering laundry.
