This ephemeral sculptural installation was inspired by the myriad coastal creeks that make up the San Francisco Bay Area's vital watershed. My land art installations bring attention to the fragility of our coastal ecosystems. Meticulously installed and swiftly removed, my installations leave no trace. They live on, however, through photography and video documentation.
Materials
Silk with an ostrich egg surface texture, watercolor paper, bamboo, thread
Techniques
Arashi-shibori hand-dyed, manipulated, stretched and constructed over a heavy watercolor paper armature.
