The piece was made as a Gala Donation for The John Cooper School. Students and teachers donated concert T's used as a border and on the back. the theme was "School Rocks" I later found out this wasn't quit the T-Shirt quilt they were expecting. It was my second fabric piece and i had no idea what a T-Shirt Quilt looked like. It all worked out well, bringing a $20,000 donation to the school that year, which interestingly tied it for the highest donation - which was a guitar donated by Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.
