Holme Valley

Home is where the heart is, and this landscape—the Holme Valley in Yorkshire, United Kingdom—has captured our hearts. We moved here in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, and have found great solace in its beauty. Our village nestles in the valley, enfolded by hills that are peppered with dry stone walls and rough tracks. These paths enabled me to walk away the blues, breathe deeply, and remember how good life can be. The valley is home to old textile mills, and the paths that I trod were created by the footsteps of their many millworkers. As I now walk these same pathways, I feel rooted in a landscape weighted with history. It is a haven that comforts and inspires me.
