Four Seasons: Summer

The inspiration for my quilt series on the four seasons began with the garden paintings of Monet. As Monet's eyesight failed, his gardens became more abstract. I further scattered the vision in "Summer," using a nine patch structure to order a riot of color and pattern depicting intense sun, deep shade, radiant heat, and soothing water.
