I originally saw this dance performed before a Dalai Lama event at our local university. It was totally mesmerizing and I knew I had to create her for this art piece. This dance is performed at the yearly Pow Wow gathering of our local Indian tribes. The ribbons and shawl fabric are meant to represent the movement of a butterfly as the woman moves to the drumming sounds.
