Unfortunately, when I think of red, I think of bloodshed and the many things that cause it. Anger, hate, carelessness, passion, and envy are a few reasons blood is spilled, but it is envy that grows slowly. Envy, when it is allowed to fester in our hearts, our communities, or our countries, always bubbles over and breaks out into bloodshed. Cain envied Abel, the other deacons envied Stephen, and the Pharisees envied Jesus, each time leading to the blood of the innocent being spilled. Envy has not changed in 2,000 years. If you allow it to grow, it will bear the fruit of death.
