An Early Spring Day

I love to walk in the woods, looking at the birds singing, listening to the fallen leaves whispering, seeing the dappled light, and enjoying the changing color of the seasons. I had been making landscapes for many years, and I wanted to make those landscapes more romantic, more idyllic. Adding birds to the trees gave me the emotional, symbolic, beautiful elements that my art needed. When I paint the birds, I imagine them flying through the woods or resting on the branches of the trees.
