Dulce et Decorum Est

War demands and employs any tribe's highest technology of violence. From the matchlocks of the 1400s to the Kalashnikov, guns define Western warfare. Even fantasy weapons of science fiction are guns that shoot energy instead of bullets. "Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori" is our seduction song to our young subtribes of mostly men, their moral values imperfectly formed but their bonding capacity infinite. How can we be perplexed when fractured and failing people return this evil in rampages?
