Discord/Unity

I am a visual artist deeply influenced by Chaos in all her forms, including the natural and human-made. I dye fabric. I cut freehand shapes and lines, sewing them together in varied combinations to create textures and forms. Units are then combined into large compositions. Discord/Unity is composed entirely of solid-colored fabric. It depicts political divides in the U.S. which have always existed, both within and between parties. Now, with a new era of cooperation, the yellow fissures can be seen as connections mending the gap between the blue and the red.
