Spending many years as a practicing sculptor I have become keenly aware of how light can subtly fall across surfaces where value, or intensity of color, can create an awareness of 3-Dimensional space; which is perceived as depth.
"If I were to come upon a sewing machine, completely out of context, totally unaware of its rich history and the host of fine practitioners who came before; what would I do with it?" I would draw using the same process that appears in an endless number of sketchbooks lying around my house - this is one of those first sketches.
