The title De Colores is a tribute to the Guatemalan women dressed in their native finery. They are in a market on the plaza, cooking food on top of a barrel cut into thirds. A propane hose in a blue tube feeds the flame to light logs under a steel cooktop. They are very busy on a Saturday afternoon preparing traditional blue corn tortillas. Before going to work that day to make food for the village, they enjoyed a breakfast of eggs cooked in a copper skillet. The reflection of an arm is seen on the steel cooktop, and a face peeking from around the corner adds mystery to the scene.
