Cosmos 4 - Spiral Galaxy

One need only gaze at the night sky to begin to imagine ancient times. Galaxies are over 10 billion years old. They are the birthplace of stars. “Cosmos 4 – Spiral Galaxy” was inspired by images from the Hubble telescope, is pieced entirely of solid-colored cotton fabric. When I began this composition, I imagined it as part of a larger universe, but in the end, it demanded independence. My desire to capture this vast, limitless, unimaginably old beauty of space/time is a result of spending many nights in the deserts where dark skies explode with cosmic wonders.
