Clear Palisades

In the 1970s and early 1980s, MacDonald created large abstract dimensional pieces. She admired the work of painter Al Held, who between 1979 and 1985 also created large-scale abstract paintings with illusionary space. Like Held, MacDonald was interested in creating “another world.”
