This work portraits a second generation Asian American female who embarks on an inner journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. To reflect the concerns and complications of living "in-between" rather than simply belonging, uncertainties inscribed in the lives of strangers from a different shore, and celebratory hybridity in a culture of heterogeneity, I deliberately use the seemingly conflicting elements in my work such as complementary colors and natural and rigid lines.
