The same region of our brain that is responsible for our visual senses is also involved in interpreting our memories. Although this is a digitally constructed image of a land-dwelling plant, this image evokes strong memories of swimming through sea kelp, snorkeling into a patch of colder water, and looking up to the sunlight beyond the surface.
