Begegnungen

My 97-year-old mother suffers from dementia. Two caregivers assist her around the house making her life as comfortable as possible.
Once a week I make the 70km drive to her house. We settle down for cake and tea, later I sing our old songs accompanied by the guitar. My Mother enjoys it. Conversations are barely possible. Sometimes she recognizes me, other times not.
The ups and downs of these afternoons and weekly rituals, the bright and dark moments are captured in this quilt
