Becoming Whole

Sad “quilt snippets” for sale at a shabby-chic stall in an antique sale. Why were they cut apart? Why were they separated? Who made them? Is she weeping? They are whole again, joined onto a quilt that could not be sold for one dollar at a farm auction. To quote Rabindranath Tagore, “When I stand before thee at the day’s end, thou shalt see my scars and know that I had my wounds and also my healing.”
