The Basket Maker

The Rwandan war had ended recently when I made this. I was saddened to read of the loss of a generation of young men in the conflict. In the aftermath of the war, the future of Rwanda was clearly in its women, like this basket maker, who are trying to weave a new existence out of the works of their hands.
