Azuru

Throughout history, masks in various forms (sacred, practical, or playful) have played a crucial role in the development of our understanding about what it means to be human. They allow us to imagine what it is like to be transformed into a different identity, or to hide one’s identity and emotions.

I am very intrigued by the metaphorical masks we humans wear and hide behind, such as when we put on our “happy face” mask when we are not happy, or when we put on our “fearless face” mask when we are full of fear.
