Autumn Textures

Sometimes images and ideas stay with me for years or even decades. This abstract composition of fall colors on a hillside was inspired by my commute to work in the early 1980's, in the Rocky Mountains, when the fall colors filled the hillsides. This is my second quilt using zippers. Imitating string piecing, I used cut up whole and half zippers, with strategically placed zipper pulls, to bring back memories of the hillsides of Colorado.
