As a person who copes with mental health and chronic pain, I have sought to represent that pain and struggle in this piece. 'Anguish' tells the story of both mental and physical suffering and pain. It also explores the loneliness and the not alone (though we are frequently disconnected or unaware of not being alone- represented here by the figures facing away from each other though they reflect and resemble one another) that comes with both chronic experiences.
