America's Religion

This quilt has been on my mind for a long time, especially as mass shootings have become more common. The 34 coffins represent the 34,000 people killed by guns in homicides, suicides, and accidents each year. The three guns forming the cross are samples of the most popular non-hunting guns in America.

We need to address the worship of guns as sacred, and find a way to once again make them useful tools, not the means to settle an argument or enact revenge.
