Always Winter

Always Winter is a very personal artwork that explores my complex relationship with my mother-in-law. Major Depressive Disorder takes a toll on not only the patient, but the entire family. Years of caring for her with all my heart have affected my life, health, and art. I make art and give it to her in the hopes of making her happy. Sadly, she has lived season after season through her window, not engaging. Does she see the signs of life emerging even in winter? I use a resemblance of my own face to reflect how intertwined we have become.
