For more than 25 years, I have been involved in sewing, quilting, and fiber artistry. I have shared my expertise through teaching and speaking engagements at quilt shops, guilds, and community college classes. My textile creations have been showcased in galleries and accepted into national exhibitions. I am an active member and committee chair of the Columbia Fiber Arts Guild, Studio Art Quilts Association, and Contemporary Quilt Arts Association.
My artistic approach involves a spontaneous use of fabric, focusing on organic shapes and designs. I incorporate vibrant, rich colors using various materials like cotton, silk, velvet, organza, and wool. The shapes and patterns in my work are free-flowing and intentionally imperfect. I enhance my pieces with detailed quilting using decorative threads adorned with beads and enriched with textured yarns.
