In my work, I use textiles, particularly quilts, to explore how fabric can tell stories. Quilting has always been a personal and meaningful art form for me, rooted in family traditions and the memories of learning from my mother. Through this craft, I blend tradition with my own creative vision, finding new ways to express themes of identity, nature, and transformation.
I’m especially drawn to the tactile and transformative qualities of fabric. Every material I choose—whether it’s hand-dyed or repurposed—carries its own history, and I love weaving these stories into my work. My art is a way of connecting with the past while shaping something new and unique. The process of creating each piece is like building a narrative, stitch by stitch.
Thematically, my quilts often reflect on family and place. I see quilting as a metaphor for how we build our identities, layer by layer, drawing from our personal experiences and heritage. I also pull inspiration from nature, which finds its way into my pieces through the textures and patterns I use.
Ultimately, I want my work to invite others into these stories—whether it’s through the emotional pull of a certain color, the complexity of a design, or the familiar warmth of a quilt. I hope to create art that resonates with people on a personal level and celebrates the beauty and power of textiles.
